The purpose of the forum will be to afford us more time for dialogue about the important question of ministerial call.
CFM (Fellowship Ministry Team) needs two new members to replace Peggy Cossolias and Dave Johnson. They are leaving the CFM this spring (lamented but long planned) and we need your sage advice about who would be a good fit on this interesting committee. The preferred candidate would have the confidence and trust of RVUUFians and be able to take the pulse of our congregation during the early years of our new minister. Contact Peggy Cossolias or Lois Pettinger with your nominee by March 8.
We have been very busy this year and have not had a forum recently to check in with you all. We would like you to give us some feedback -- questions, comments, complaints, suggestions -- about anything that is going on in the Fellowship. This is part of the Committee on Fellowship Ministry’s mission of taking the pulse of the congregation and an opportunity for all members to give us some input. Sharing is an important ingredient in communities. Please come join us. CFM, the Board, Program Council and Rev. Heather Lynn Hanson

Mark your calendar and watch for mailing (agenda; other documents below). We’ll hear from our Ministerial Search Committee and Endowment Trustees. And, it’ll be time to vote on RVUUF’s 2008 Budget; Endowment Trust amendment; Covenant of Right Relations; and Long-range Goals, Objectives, & Growth Scenario. Regarding the growth scenario, the Board will ask us all to come to grips with two questions:
Be prepared to offer your thoughts and cast a definitive vote.
A day-long workshop in Compassionate Communication, also known as Non-Violent Communication (Center for NVC; Wikipedia: NVC), is planned for the congregation. All are invited; committee chairs and members are especially encouraged to participate. It will take place at RVUUF and lunch will be provided. The cost will be on a sliding scale from $25 to $50. Scholarships will be available.
Joanne Lescher, a trained and certified facilitator, will lead the workshop. She comes highly recommended and has much experience in teaching, mediating and coaching. (Oct service)
This workshop will nurture the skills and consciousness needed to support our diverse community and bring alive our Vision and Mission statements. Any questions? Contact Peggy Cossolias.
After you've taken the workshop, be sure to sign up for Practice Sessions on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
Dec 2007 Newsletter: Compassionate Communication Workshop a Great Success
Your Committee on Fellowship Ministry (CFM) has planned a two-hour Committee Nitty Gritty workshop for Saturday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to noon.
We encourage, nay, urge all committee chairs and other present and prospective RVUUF committee members to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about and share techniques for making committee meetings efficient, effective, and even fun. It is also a great way to get a better fix on what our committees do and how they can all pull in the same direction in concert with our vision and mission. The workshop will be led by experienced RVUUF members.
Please sign up in the foyer -- but even if you don’t sign up ahead of time, please come. It’s free!
Please join us after our Jul 15th service for a forum presented by the Endowment Trustees, which will cover:

What does your CFM do? Briefly, it is a group that serves the Fellowship’s overall ministry and does what it can to strengthen it. Members of CFM meet monthly and depend on their own observations plus input from other Members and Friends to help accomplish their work.
What can you do? Talk to any CFM member about what you especially like, and share constructive suggestions for improvement: Alan Berman; Gwyneth Bowman; Peggy Cossolias; David Johnson, chair; Lois Pettinger; Paul Larson
The Committee on Fellowship Ministry (CFM) is a significant expression of shared ministry. Through the CFM the laity takes its share of the responsibility for the success of the overall ministry of the Fellowship. The CFM will be:
