I moved to Ashland 13 years ago, and stepped right into this position at the Rogue Valley UU Fellowship. I had had the same job at the UU Church of Studio City for 17 years, so I felt right at home. Actually, Unitarian Universalism has been important throughout my life.

My father, John Woodworth, was organist and choir director at the Arlington Street Church in Boston throughout my childhood, and long after I left Boston. In the summers we spent 10 weeks working at the Isles of Shoals, one of the UU conference centers on the East coast. When I was old enough, I sang in the concerts he directed there, and sometimes participated in the worship services.

During my career as a dancer, I met my husband, Don Dolan, who was very ready to become a UU. We were married at All Souls Church in New York City, and Jack Mendelsohn made the trip up from Boston to perform the ceremony.

From New York we moved to Los Angeles, where we became members of the UU Church of Studio City, and eventually I took the job as Office Administrator. And now here we are in Ashland, enjoying a somewhat calmer life. Don's niece, Jill Job Saxby is a UU minister in Portland, Maine, so the cycle goes on...and on.
