The local Fellowship was organized in 1953 and for some years met in private homes. In the late 1950's, the group had grown so that they felt the need for larger quarters. Then began a long series of moves from a dance school to the Girl's Community Club, the Red Cross Building, and two different theaters.
We began experimenting with professional ministerial leadership in the 1980's, culminating in our calling the Reverend Brad Carrier in 1986. Brad was with us for eight years during which time we purchased our present building at 87 Fourth Street in Ashland.
Betty Pingel was our interim minister during 1994-95, until we called Armida Alexander as our second permanent minister in August 1995. Armida retired at the end of 1998. In August 1999, Reverend Patt Herdklotz became our third called minister. In 2006, Rev. Heather Lynn Hanson started serving as our interim minister.
